Anyone who has ever had a need for a lawyer to handle their DWI or Reckless Driving case can tell you that there are lots of lawyers out there advertising for these kinds of cases.
I field many calls per week from folks in need of legal representation and almost always the first question is "What are your fees?"
Before I explain why choosing a lawyer based on price alone is a big mistake, let me tell you that you that I am by no means cheapest DWI/Reckless Driving lawyer in the area. In fact, I am probably one of the more expensive.
Many lawyers quote very low prices for DWI/Reckless Driving cases because they plan to do very little work on them!
They also quote these low prices to become immediately attractive to potential clients because they want to avoid answering tough questions such as-
"What types of results have you achieved in a case like mine?"
"Are you familiar with the judges and prosecutors in the Court?"
Again, by quoting low fees, the "bargain" lawyer stops the inquiries and gets the client to retain him/her based solely on his/her price.
This type of marketing is no different than that of Wal-Mart. You never hear Wal-Mart advertising about the level of its quality, you only hear it repeatedly telling you that it has the LOWEST PRICES!
The point of this blog is not to tell you to go find the highest priced lawyer and expect your charge to be dismissed simply because you paid a big price.
The point is to inform you that you should ask your potential lawyer questions about what he/she is going to do for your case and what types of results he/she has achieved for past clients.
If your potential lawyer won't answer these questions, then be wary.
Remember, no lawyer can guarantee a result or outcome in your case, but a lawyer should be able to answer the questions I posed above.
If you have a DWI/Reckless Driving case and need legal representation, then contact the Parrish Law Firm on the web or call us at 571-229-1800 and we will answer your questions.
